Event management systems

Hi guys,

Not sure if this is the best forum, but here we go.

Has anyone got any recommendations for event management systems?

A MODx plugin would of course be great, but not seen any about. So just a general solution would be fine. It’d need to be an online solution where you can add events, people can register, confirmation emails, reminder emails - that kind of thing. Very low volume usage, not public registration really – more for specific campaigns. So I’m not after some all singing/dancing system.

Open source ideally of course – free or very low price up for consideration.

I’ve been working on an addon for MODX called EventManager, but not had time to work on it for ages. It basicly provides you a simple solution for adding events, and when finished will allow you to manage registrations with it as well.

The source is on Github (https://github.com/Mark-H/EventManager) and free to use as long as you "give back" anything you added to it - that’s what open source is about, making it work together.

I wish I could develop, and give back on something like this! I’m afraid one of those ’all take very little contribution’ types I’m afraid because my only skill is writing (I did mean to find out if there was such a requirement). This is why I love MODX though.. I can have an average technical knowledge, and achieve SO much.

As a writer you could definitely contribute to documentation - that’s an often left-out part while it should deserve just as much attention as the development
