Grub & Schwag in MODxpo

In seeing that MODxpo will offer "Grub & Schwag",
I embarked in the search of such terms as I have not
seen them before...

What is GRUB?

Easy, in www.eatgrub.com I found some definitions...

1. grub is healthy, local, sustainable food for all
2. grub is food that supports community, justice, and sustainability
3. grub should be universal

I think GRUB is really good for MODxpo... community, justice, sustainable, universal...
mmm... all good MODx values... let’s have GRUB...

What is SCHWAG?

It was interesting to find the first definitions of SCHWAG:

1. weak or impotent cannabis or dirt weed
2. something of exceptionally poor or low quality which is generally looked down upon
3. Low quality marijuana, usually very dry, full of stems and seeds and shit you don’t want to inhale
4. Epitome of the phrase "quantity over quality"

I even thought, wow, with this I will understand xPDO and MODx REVO in no time, or
at least we will have a great time in Dallas...

but a more in depth search found the actual meaning of SCHWAG:

The term schwag refers to all manner of logoed stuff given away by companies to get people to remember them, feel good about them, have their phone number and website at hand and generally make them think about them before any of their competitors. And we will go the promosapiens route of learning REVO...

(NOT that we won’t have a great time in Dallas with pins, tees, caps and keyrings!!)

Food and T-shirts it is! There’s some killer restaurants in Dallas for those looking for great dinners. Let me know what you’re looking for and I’ll make some recommendations.

If I were going, I’d be looking for good Mexican places...oh, how I miss Mexican food here! Yemenite, Moroccan and Indian food are good, but just not quite the same!

Well that’d mean choosing between Tex-Mex or true Comida de Mexico.

Hard choice... I love ’em both! My first husband was from Lubbock; his momma was born on the King Ranch to parents of uncertain legality, and I learned to cook both Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican from several regions. Never could make tortillas by hand, though; they say that has to be learned at your mother’s knee. Waxed paper and a rolling pin did a fine job

Unfortunately the thought of around 30 hours in the air (not to mention the hassle of getting in and out of the US these days) pretty much guarantees I’ll never be back that way.

Or you can try a tortilla press and plastic with Masa from GRUMA,
for your corn tortillas.

Flour tortillas are easy and fast to make...

Yes, it is s a hassle getting in and out of the US, specially the feeling of
being guilty until you prove yourself innocent!! But probably not as much as
flying 30 hours, you would have to program your vacation and conferences together...
