Saving document with Manager causes 404!

Hi,

Just developed a site locally and transferred to host. All ok. .htaccess, rewrite all working fine. Problem i’m having is that when i edit a resource it shows correctly in the Manager but on saving, the file save but the manager doesn’t close automatically and shows a 404 in the manager window. Any ideas?

But, using ANY of the options from that link in the .htaccess files causes 500 Internal Server Error.

I found my resolution.

SoftException in Application.cpp:256: File "/home/websitename/public_html/assets/plugins/qm/close.php" is writeable by group, referer: http://www.websitename.co.uk/manager/index.php?a=27&id=1&quickmanager=true
Premature end of script headers: close.php, referer: http://www.websitename.co.uk/manager/index.php?a=27&id=1&quickmanager=true

It appears to be a permissions problem with the QM file close.php. Also the folders ’assets’, ’plugins’ and ’qm’ were writeable by the group user.

permissions changed to 755 on those files/folders and recursively within. All working great now

A lot of shared hosting require folder permissions of 755 and file permissions of 644, mostly if they have PHP running as CGI (rather than an apache module) and some form of suexec (where a scripts runs as its owner rather than the apache user; apache calls the script, but then the user is switched to the script owner).
