I personally feel like I still have to, because I don’t know which browser the client is going to use to view the web site. It has happened before when the client comes back and says something doesn’t work or look right and it’s because they are using an old browser. I don’t think it looks good on me to start going on about how they should upgrade and it’s because they are using out-of-date software. Of course, if the client is using a ridiculous obsolete browser then I would have to explain to them the problem is on their end, but I do try to avoid doing that.
Oh, and also... It just bugs the shit out of me if it doesn’t work right in ie6 :/

I HATE IE6 but I always get surprised how many people nowdays are still using this junk!
So... I must recode all the code just for those lame asses who are using IE6 >:(

We only fix it so that it is usable in IE6, things like transparancy won’t get fixed. Just a fix to be able to view pages and navigate it, no layout fixes!
We do this because IE6 takes to long to fix, clients have to pay more if they want IE6 compatibility. Until now we never got a client that wanted IE6 support.

I know Royal Caribbean still has IE6 on their internet kiosks (and charge an insane .55/min for slow internet). I suspect it has something to do with their branding the interface and adding their charging system.
At least that holds true on the Navigator of the Seas as of departure from the ship earlier today... Hopefully the Oasis of the Seas has corrected this issue...

The only tweak I care about these days is png transparency. I’m of those who are already embracing CSS3 HTML5 for progressive enhancement.
If Microsoft can force people to download some crappy updates, why can’t they force users to upgrade their smoking browsers to the latest one like Google and Mozilla do?
