What version of MODx are you using, if Evolution, read on. If Revolution, read on to get a rough idea but you will need to make some changes for the tags and placeholder syntax, etc.

Is it a MODx template? If yes, then it should have instructions on installation, maybe a readme file.

Is it a HTML/CSS template? then you need to port it into MODx. These resources might help:

its a MODx one, I dunno what MODx I am using and there is no readme file??

Where did you download the template? When you install MODx it will give you the version at the top of the installer.

The version is also shown on the top right corner of the Manager.
