As others have posted. you can recreate both of these reasonably simply using ditto to pull in the stories and a TV to display the images. you would need to create a chunk for the ditto template.
e.g
call on home page:

TV:
Create a TV called whatever you like and select input type as image. I called mine ’featuredimage’

I have ripped this code off once of my sites so it probably contains a load of stuff you don’t need, like tags and social bookmarks etc.. but thought it might help in providing an example.
