Candidate Profile and Registration ? Job Board type scenario.

Hi All, I am currently re-desigining my website using modx and I am really finding it very easy to work with. I am currently working on my Job board section and have chosen to use TV’s for storing and retreiving job information etc. My next issue is I can put a simple application form together which allows visitors to apply online but what I would like to do Is have them signup for a profile account which they can use to store things like, availabily,references cv document,work history, skills etc so that each time they apply they do not need to fill in a lengthy form. In addition later on I would like to add Job application history etc and maybe online timesheets.
My question is has anyone else wanted similar and if so how did you do it? I have a rough idea in my head but just wondered if any of you guys could push me in the right direction. There are many packages out there on the market that do this kind of thing... A they are expensive for a small business like me and B I kind of get some satifaction knowing I did it myself.

I personally solved this issue developing a new application that runs external to modx.

I used codeigniter to do the both the front end and the backend.

The frontend is integrated in to modx using a template that has an iframe like



Because the content is different in size I use jQuery » iFrame Sizing: http://host.sonspring.com/iframe/

I know this is not a modx solution but this was the fastest way for me and I like Codeigniter. It might not be the best for you
