irritating script behavior

Hi,
in a new site using modx 0.9.6.3 I’ve included ajax search and a accordion menu based on mootools 1.2.
The thing is that too many times when switchng to other pages the hidden div’s of these scripts light up for short when the page is loaded. So the hidden parts of ajax search are shown for a moment and the accordion completely expanded. Especially IE is nerving here.

How can this be (avoided)?

I would suggest to use css to hide them until the page completely loads.

use visibility:hidden property or display:none.

use

window.addEvent(’load’, function() {
//make visible again
});

to display those boxes again.

that’s exactly the way it is written.

I think you are experiencing FOUC, but I could be wrong.

I can assure you that you are neither the first, nor the last, to do the same. We could have done some pretty amazing things with the total hours designers and developers around the world have spent making IE, and users of IE, happy.
