I’d lean towards the dual graphics card MBP if you can, simply for future implications with OpenCL taking advantage of the video cards. Otherwise I’d go for a 13", an external monitor and finally digging in with using spaces. I’ve got the "last gen" unibody 15" with 4GB RAM and I absolutely love it.

I use 13" with 22" external monitor...this is a great setup since i can unplug and go on the move in a snap. I don’t take it ’out’ but sometimes will take it to the TV room and work while I watch the simpsons or sports. And tha added bonus i get to have dual monitors when at my desk...which is awesome!!!
I’m thinking on getting the 15inch 2.66GHz version.
Instead of going with the 2.8GHz version which has 6MB shared L2 cache + 512video ram, I would probably wait one year or two and upgrade to an SSD if necessary.
