This one was just great. Thanks.  And with an easy to use color picker as well.

hmmm, I use Fireshot, will have to try some of the ones here.

cmd+shift+4 or
cmd+shift+4 and then space

Until now I used an oldy... MWSnap -http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/mwsnap.html- (last release 2002) but it still works well for me (on Vista). It doesn’t have the problem of having it to run as administrator as picpick seems to have to but it’s features are a bit simpler.

I’m using MWSnap on Vista too. I hadn’t realized it was that old. It’s kind of amazing how well it works on Vista considering.

Thanks for the PicPick note... I will be trying it...
looks very flexible specially in changing the size of
image and canvas independently and for taking pictures
of different screen real estate...
