What is best way to go about this...

Right, I have been tasked with taking a look at the page here

I was wondering, what is the best way of recreating this page that a normal web user i.e the owner (who has very little web understanding) can easily add and remove trailers to the page, and mark others as sold?

Note how each trailer in the table has it’s own page with larger images on it - but I guess this could done using a gallery?

Creat 2 pages in the manager ( IE: for sale and sold )

Then create a few tv’s for adding image, text and price, then make a chunk that calls them in.

The create the pages under each catagory and use ditto on the main page to call them both, IE 2 ditto calls one for sale and one for sold. Then when a item is sold the client simply moves it to the sold catagory.

That makes sense, but there are two problems.

a) How does the client move a trailer from For Sale to Sold? TV tag? problem is the listing would then be on the wrong page.

b) At the moment the viewer to the site can see what is for sale, but also click on the image and is then taken to a page with a larger/different view. How would I set this up?

I would create one page, then use a TV (radio button for "sold") that the user would click when the item is sold. Filter in Ditto (or just have it display a big red SOLD banner if it’s set).

For the images, I’d use one of the many Javascript viewers. Since MODx uses mootools, I’d go with one of those to prevent conflicts with javascript libraries.
