Could Modx be used to create a web application? I would like to create a service that has a free, $5/mo, and $10/mo option but I’m not sure if I could use modx for something like this. I never created a website that used web users and I’m guessing thats what I would use for the 3 different feature sets on the pricing/plan page.. What about the $5 and $10 month to month subscriptions? How would I do that?
Well I for one will be tempted to use Modx here (webuser/access permissions management, widgets, template manager, reusable code, etc) - ohh and I almost forgot its a CMS also.
For the monthly payments I would image you’d use a monthly billing system which your paying webusers will subscribe to.
Your billing system would link to a payment system. There are e-commerce solutions which you can use for this process.
Dont forget to do your figures (ROI): the development time, monthly cost of e-commerce solution etc vs. paying clients
