Hey,
Ok, so I am normally the one coming up with a load of templates to use with modx, but for a change I could use some help getting one a layout to work correctly. I have been over this layout about 5 times now and can’t for the life of me figure out why this isn’t working...
Anyways! The site: (Problem Solved)
If you view the site in FF and most other browsers it works fine and all the content shows for the main body area, but if you view the site in IE7... Well the top of the content is fine, but it gets overflows at the bottom instead of pushing the layout down like it should.
I’m at a loss for the cause of the problem... Can anyone here provide some perspective and/or a fix to the problem?

Look at this piece of CSS... I’m only guessing this is the problem in IE. There’s no reason that you can’t use position:relative so you don’t need the top:455px. I have had a problem like this in the past and it was related to position:absolute and top: . Without having something like firebug for IE it’s off the top of my head.

If I change the menu positioning to relative the layout blows up. If you want I can change it so you can see the blow up and see if there is an easy fix for the blowup issue.
Oh, and yes only IE has the problem... Firefox 3, Chrome, Safari (win and mac) all work correctly along with a host of other browsers.

I see what you mean. I’m no CSS guru, but your bumper div has no CSS styling at all and seems to overlap the problem area.

I had to rework the positioning for IE, but I was able to get things working properly. Well actually one of the other people on the project changed something else that in turn cause another problem and in the process of fixing that problem I fixed the other problem at the same time...
Now if only i could make IE go away for good...

Typically, when using absolute positioning in IE you have to declare a width and height. I always do it regardless and it has helped.
