    Happy New Year... grin

I’ve got a really strange thing going on with one of my clients sites

everytime I enter a quote (’) or double quotation mark (") in any part of their manager and saving the document, it’s putting a backslash in front of it, like it’s trying to escape it

the more times you edit and save the document, the more it does it

and this isn’t a richtext problem, it’s happening in chunks, snippets, richtext and plaintext

I don’t control the server, so it could be that they’ve upgraded PHP or something (PHP is at version 5.3.1, modx 1.0)

and I was getting a weird error message (that was why I started editing the site in the first place)

    « MODx Parse Error »

MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
    « PHP Parse Error »

    PHP error debug
Error: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated
    Error type/ Nr.: - 8192
    File: /home/ludco/public_html/formadmin/includes/view-functions.php
    Line: 1561
    Line 1561 source: $form =& new stdClass();

    anyone have any ideas??

all my sites running on php 5.2.12 using this version of modx are running fine

    cheers

    Gary

you probably need to turn off magic_quotes: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?topic=40996.0
