I’ve got a project coming up and I am lost, I mean seriously. I’ve search on w3schools, google and etc etc. Can some one point me into the right direction??
Here’s the thing, my tutor says that it is possible to use javascript to update content on the page (twitter style). So for example someone types a message and it is automatically displayed on the page (no refresh I am guessing) and possible even stored (cookies im guessing). It is no problem to do so using js, php & xml.
I know that js can read xml files, but can it actually insert new fields into the xml file? To me it sounds unwise because that way anyone could point a js to an xml file on a server and rewrite it. So basically its a javascript chat that I am looking for. I am not asking anyone for direct code (which I wouldn’t mind thought) but could someone point me in the right direction, it has been a few days now and no movement:(((
yes I know, its a breeze with php, but I need javascript only.
