A friend of mine is wondering if there’s anyway I can tie in a stocks and shares program in to modx... I have no experience with this sort of thing and wondered if anyone would have any knowledge if this is possible? It would be US based and any S&S program would be fine.
They currently use thinkorswim.com just now...

Thanks Sue... i should of really said a lot more than I did. Basically he and 40 friends are starting up an investment company and they want the users to be able to log in to the site and buy and sell shares. I searched for a shares program with API but didn’t find anything. I’m guessing it could well be something way beyond anything I could imagine putting together.

That’s not something I would care to get involved in. Too much trouble if something goes wrong. I know a guy (I actually set up his computer) who lost his shirt "day trading" online, and sued the site claiming it was their buggy software that kept him from being successful at it. Last I heard the suit was still ongoing.

I think i’ll recommend that I could setup the site without a S&S setup and they should continue to use the website they already use for their buying and selling. Thanks for the info.
I am with Susan on this one...
Its one thing to produce appreciation with a website you create. But this venture sounds like there could be scenarios that could create hard feelings, perhaps directed at you...
Of course this goes with the territory: sometimes clients have overly high expectations that their new fancy website will bring all kinds of success...

Sounds like something slightly out of the world of me.... It would of been great to get such a client but I guess it’s just a little too much to take on. Thanks for the info, I passed it on.
