hello all...
i have downloaded WAMP and installed it but somehow something is not working. OS is Win 7, downloaded modx and placed everything as described on the website. no matter what i do, nothing works. had the same issue with other applications over the last 2 weeks. anyone out there who can recommend something like a complete package (Apache,MySQL,PHP and modx) which "just" needs to be unzipped and installed in one go?
been installing all sorts of Java,PHP,Apache etc and uninstalling again...just nothing work...

Many of us use XAMPP, although I’m not sure if anyone has tried it in Windows 7 yet.
I had issues with Win 7 for a bit and after a bit then realized that my firewall was blocking it (and you need to ensure when you install it - run it as an administrator. And also make sure the Apache/MySQL is running. Because my firewall was shutting mine off until I figured out that I needed to allow an exception to it. Right now I am trying out XXAMP for the MAC so its a bit different. Both are good products though! I haven’t tried XXAMP for Win 7 though.
