Sure... I can’t recall how many times I wished this happened !
But as you say money is one thing company understand, but you sum it up quite well most of the times they say : "hey, wait, this feature you were supposed to build doesn’t work" meaning it doesn’t work with IE6 or IE5.5. They don’t even realize that we spend around 20-25% additionnal time to develop a website because of IE specific development (should I say bug-work-arounding ?)
Meaning YOU pay for Bill Gates stupid browser, of course you can raise your rates but this is a highly competitive market and I don’t think we are fully compensated for the additionnal development time (not to mention, additionnal support !).
Sadly, I think we’ll have to wait till the "new generation" who knows what a browser is comes to power
