Universal selector and Modx

Hi,

Is there any reason why this will not work with Modx 0.9.5:



It took me an age to work what was happening. I only resolved the problem when I added the values to the body element. Both Firefox and IE affected.

Is there something I’m missing?

There is nothing at all in MODx that in any way affects your CSS.

Several times I’ve had to reset the document to use no template, but then I’d notice that it again was using a template. I’ve just reset it again, and removed the code from the body element - the universal selector now appears to be working. When I switch between the CSS document using a template and using no template, the bug toggles accordingly.

I’ve had to reset the document (and another CSS document for the same template) several times. I can only assume that one or the other or both were always set to use a template when I was attempting to trouble shoot. Are there any known issues with template selection not sticking?

Not unless you have problems with ’no template’ not sticking.

Ah, you are using a document as a CSS file. I’ve not heard of problems with template settings not being properly saved, though.

Nor have I, but you might want to upgrade your installation to 0.9.6.1 and see if the problem continues (not many people are still using 0.9.5, so it’s hard to get accurate support for it).

I think it just might have been the server. It had been playing up shortly before I had problems making the ’no template’ setting stick.

Yes, I will upgrade soon. Any particular problems associated with a 0.9.5 to 0.9.6.1 upgrade?

I’ve never had any major problems with that upgrade. I think once it didn’t update TinyMCE properly and it always seems to install the QuickEdit plugin even if you uncheck that, but both of those minor issues are easily addressed should they occur. From what I remember there were a lot more quirks going from 0.9.2 to 0.9.5.
