I have done a search on this and can’t see an answer and I might already be on to the answer myself but I would like to get some sort of official word on my question.
I am wondering if there is a Maximum size for a header that can be used? I am thinking it might be related to what template or theme is being used, but I just wanted to double check here before I run with that assumption.

no limits other than your imagination...and usability. You can make a site that scrolls horizontally rather than vertically and have a huge header.
