Thick Underline?

Not sure if this is the best place to put this but on my modx site i use css and any anchor tags have a very thick underline that is below the usal underline. any ideas how i could fix this?

Anyways, do you have a CSS stylesheet? Maybe that’s it. Link to your site --- I/someone else can debug it easier that way.

Are you using a demo template? If so you may be getting some css issues.

I don’t think that Modx itself will effect any style attributes. I usually use the web developer toolbar in firefox to debug css issues.

i stripped out my css from the template and also from my css file (css/c.css) and it still had the thick underline in IE6.

Did you try putting in your CSS file?

You have a:link defined in your document’s <style> section and again in your .css file (/css/c.css). You also have a reference to a:link’s bottom border in your conditional comment for browsers lte IE6 which IE6 will process. Try having just one definition of a:link where you specify all the attributes you want it to have.

Generally, it’s a bad idea to have a .css file and style info in your document unless you have a specific reason for doing it that way.

i removed this from the base template and it works now, was that originally part of modx? If it wasn’t already there maybe I copy pasted and didn’t even realized it.

It’s in the MODx default template but I’m not sure why. I don’t think IE6 needs all that but I could be wrong.

You might try changing "lte" to just "lt":


That way it won’t effect IE6.

That CSS is specific to one of the default templates. You’ll definitely want to get rid of it if you don’t want your links underlined.
