Prevent Javascript from caching

I have a problem with some Javascript in IE6 and I’m convinced it is because the script is caching (my procedure works once and not again unless I delete all cached files). Does anyone know how to prevent scripts from caching?

Add a random query string to the end of the src path, though I can’t imagine why caching a javascript file would cause such a problem.

Thanks for the reply - I think you’re right and I was going down the wrong route here - very new to Javascript and it just seemed to me to be the logical reason.

Are you registering this javascript using $modx->regClient... API functions? Or just including it in your content? And have you checked the source of the page to make sure it all looks right?

Sorry but I don’t know what you mean by registering the Javascript? The scripts are contained in separate files.

Not a problem, and that answers my question.

OK Problem solved - I had a call to the Base URL in the document I was calling from the Javascript and this appears to have cused the issue.

Just while I’m here - can you point me in the direction of any MODx API information?
