display problems in IE

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone had any idea about how to stop internet explorer from displaying bold underlines on links. I have tried using text-decoration:none; in a variety of ways. None of which have worked. They work for Mozilla but not for IE.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would but it would be useless cause they are all stored on a private, secure server. So you can’t access the files from outside the place I work at I could post up the individual .css files but there’s probably about 10 and a few java scripts...

There is a typical problem with IE where referencing Parent & Child elements or not writing the full CSS statement:

The following works in standards conform browsers:
#navi a{text-decoration:none;}
OR
#PARENT #CHILD a{text-decoration:none;}

The following works in Internet Explorer:
#navi a:link, #navi a:visited, #navi a:hover{text-decoration:none;}
OR
#PARENT #CHILD a:link, #PARENT #CHILD a:visited, #PARENT #CHILD a:hover{text-decoration:none;}

These pseudo-classes ( :link, :visited, :hover, etc.) were mutually exclusive in CSS 1, but as of CSS 2 they are not and normal cascading rules apply (e.g., if you declare :hover before :link you can cancel out the hover style).

I have another question. IE isn’t displaying some links like it should. These links are supposed to be displayed to the far right of the page container. I have given the links a class and set the property position to right. It displays fine in Mozilla but will not display correctly in IE. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can you please copy and paste your CSS here? It’s hard to know what might be going on without it. And it also would be helpful to know what version of IE you’re testing on (there are many differences between 6 and 7, and you don’t even want to know about older versions).

i managed to fix the error i’m now getting formatting issues ha ha i hate IE
