4 level accordion dropdown

Maybe a question already asked (if so I apologize but I can not find it) or a stupid question but I am trying
to get a 4 level accordion menu working and for some reason I can not get it done, arrghhh... it’s driving me
crazy.

This is what I need:
menu 1
menu 2
submenu 1
submenu 2
subsubmenu 1
subsubmenu 2
subsubmenu 3
subsubsubmenu 1
subsubsubmenu 2
subsubsubmenu 3
subsubsubmenu 4
submenu 3
submenu 4
menu 3
menu 4
subsubmenu 1
subsubmenu 2
subsubmenu 3
subsubsubmenu 1
subsubsubmenu 2
subsubsubmenu 3
subsubmenu 3
subsubmenu 4
subsubmenu 2
menu 5
menu 6
etc...

All this must be possible with some proper css and Wayfinder, right?
If so, can somebody please get me into the right direction with showing a (working, please) example.
Because the documentation and current example’s (even the wiki one) gets me more confused...

If you find a working static HTML model, it can be re-created in Wayfinder with relative ease. Heavy emphasis on relative.

I get to the 2nd level... the moment I i click an item in the 2nd level both the 3rd and 4th show up/open...
No matter what I do/change in css...

Ahh... so this really isn’t about Wayfinder, but about CSS in general. I’ll move it to the appropriate topic.

I usually look first at the CSS Play site for menu ideas:

If you use that as your starting point, you’ll need to add the other two levels in the same way (e.g., ul.menu1 li:hover ul li ul li ul li...).

But you might find a Suckerfish menu to be more your taste:

And there are a lot of others out there:

Once you find a menu that fits your needs it’s just a matter of splitting it up into ditto-friendly chunks and plugging it into MODx.
