Upgrading existing Extras

What’s the correct process for upgrading existing extras? This applies to both Evo and Revo extras... I don’t want to double-post and create a confusing duplicate version of any add on.

If I’m understanding you correctly, the correct way in Revo is amazingly simple.

- Log into your manager
- Click ’System’ -> ’Package Management’
- Make sure you are on the ’Packages’ tab
- See if there are any extras with a red ’Yes’ in the ’Updates Available’ column
- Click ’Yes’ for that particular extra to start the update
- Follow instructions for updating
- Done

I prefer not to update an extra if it’s not a ’pl’. Meaning, I don’t download extras when they are a ’rc’ (release canidate). The reason is because the site I work on is for the company I work for, otherwise if it was just a personal site I would, in order to help find bugs.


Sorry, I never updated an Evo extra (I know, that’s very, very bad of me).

Whoops, I should have been more clear: I am a DEVELOPER, and I want to release patches or improvements to existing extras. Some of the Evo plugins don’t have GIT repos, for example. And even if I made a patch, it’s possible to mess this up and accidentally publish a "new" package when you meant to publish a new version to an existing one.

You know? I’m blind... is it true all developers can’t spell or are blind? I don’t know why I didn’t see this before, e.g. here

The file you attach has to be in the format of a transport package... but for Evo? How do you create a transport package for Evo?
