advanced / custom fields for search engine ???

Hello, we are looking for a working demo about an advanced search made on Modx Revolution.
Sometimes it is said that ajaxsearch or simplesearch can accomplish that, but there are no clear EXAMPLES.

There is no clear indications about how to perform a search based on several criterions like :

- Free text field
- Criteria 1
IS yellow
IS red
IS blue
- Criteria 2
IS XS
IS S
IS XL
- Checkbox (ON/OFF)

I think that what you want is not
SimpleSearch.... that would be
AdvancedSearch and it does not exist yet!

Sure but i don’t expect to have a Module/plugin done alerady with these functions. My question is more general/global about Is there a "How to " make an advanced search engine with criterions even if we need to develop it. But there are no clear tutorial/samples/demos about how to achieve that.

Anybody already done that with revolution since the date it came out ?

I dont’t have an answer for you other than telling you
that you could see how Ajaxsearch and Simplesearch work...
their inner works... a lot of us are doing that as Revo’s
docs grow...

Well, it is hard to believe that i am the only one with a such request at least to know HOW TO make that coding part.

I guess other people already had this need to make an advanced search engine even if it is not made by a module / plugin.

The idea is to search trouht content of the CMS using specific fields (tags, full text description etc.. and Template Variables contents defined into some content).

As said in the release of revolution dating July 2010 "After years in development, thousands of hours and over a million dollars in bootstrapped funds, we are proud to announce the release of MODx Revolution 2.0." (from : http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,51826.0.html)

So i guess there is a sample code made by someone to achieve this simple thing : custom search criterions. and i repeat.. EVEN if it has to be done by doing some coding, we just need to see a working example and How to do that.

Note that we WANT to use modx for a french institution, and the only thing that keeps us to validate our choice is that search engine question.

I have worked on a such component. My objective was/is to offer a "full text search" engine with filtering based on TVs.
I have all the technical elements to do it but as it requires an important investment, by lack of time, the progress are very slow.

Note that we WANT to use modx for a french institution, and the only thing that keeps us to validate our choice is that search engine question.
