    I was hoping to use this Login module in modx revolution:

    http://modxcms.com/extras/package/551

    But I need to let the admin manually activate users in the control panel rather than automatically sending the user an activation email. I’ve poked around in the snippet files but can’t figure a way of doing this anyone got any ideas? Or should I just use formIt and write my own php snippets?

      Preventing activation emails isn’t yet supported, but that’d be a great feature request. You can file it here: http://github.com/splittingred/Login/issues

      Until then, you can definitely just use FormIt.

        I think I have sorted it, I found the file I needed to update in the core/components/login/processors/register.php I removed the following:
        $user->set('active',1);
            $user->save();

        And instead inserted some code to email the admin to notify them of the new registration.

          I know this post is quite old, but would you mind sharing the modified code you used to notify the admin? And on what line you inserted? It seems others are having this same issue, and this would be of great help.

            Just to update things: as with Login 1.8.1 (maybe some versions down too) the mentioned code abode can be found in core/components/login/controllers/web/ConfirmRegister.php

            $this->user->set('active',0)

            0 and 1 switches between whether the user gets set to active or not.

            I also wanted that the user is not automatically logged in when activating via mail, so I deleted the following line of code in the same file:
            $this->addSessionContexts();

            Maybe this helps someone.
