    Hi,

I’m trying to export one branch of the document tree view to another site.
    Both sites use MODx 0.9.6.2.

There are so many extras that I don’t know if there is one for doing this.
I searched in the forums but could not find.

I thought to modxDBServer / modxDBClient
    (see http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php?topic=28487.20)
but the problem is I that I have in both sites documents with same IDs but different contents.

The branch that I want to export uses IDs that do not exist in the recipient site. But I don’t want to overwrite other documents.

    Any existing tool ?

      Maybe using Maatkit http://www.maatkit.org/.

Some paper about its installation on Linux:
      http://www.ciol.com/Developer/Databases/Tutorial/Maatkit-A-handy-tool-for-MySQL-users/30909125742/0/
and another one about its installation on Windows:
      http://mysqlwindows.blogspot.com/2008/10/windows-and-maatkit.html

When using xampplite, I’m not sure if ActivePerl is really useful, since Perl comes with xampplite.
...seems however that ActivePerl is the easiest way. Also for installing the Perl DBI package.

Has someone here experienced Mattkit, especially for synchronising MODx sites ?

Interesting find Jul. Looks like a great toolkit from some MySQL gurus (that build a very high performance version of MySQL).

you can try it with fastcontentcsv.
It exports and imports documents and its TVs to/from csv-files, also only from one ressource-branch, if you want so.

its a bit tricky to configure the first time. But once done it should do its job well.
Don’t forget to make a backup of your tables before playing with it!

you can buy me a beer, if you like MIGX

            Hi Ryan, Bruno, and all,

I confirm that the installation procedure on Windows using ActivePerl is straightforward. The Perl ISAPI, PerlEx and PerlScript extensions do not need to be installed unless you need Perl from an IIS server.

Unforturnately the’re not tons of tutorials for Maatkit.
So, I’ll need to read its documentation more carefully.

Thanks to Bruno for mentioning fastcontentcsv.
I’ll try both Maatkit and fastcontentcsv if time permits.
