TinyMCE adding P Tags automatically - i am going crazy !!

MODx-Version 0.9.6.3
Versions-Codename rev 4565
tinyMCE-Version 3.2.0.1


I have searched the forums, searched on google and found alot of discussions where people suggest to set:

tinyMCE.init({
...
forced_root_block : ’’,
force_p_newline : false,
force_br_newline: true
});

The file i edited was ..assets/plugins/tinymce3201/jscripts/tiny_mce/tiny_mce.js
Even though the code in this file is just a massive pile of characters, without any spaces and indentation, i managed to find the parameters mentioned above.
But unfortunately the result is still the same (in IE and FF). Whenever i hit enter, a god damn paragraph is inserted!

Am i editing the right file ? Where exactly is the tinyMCE.init() function call that initializes tinyMCE ? One thing that surpised me was that parts of the js code in
..assets/plugins/tinymce3201/jscripts/tiny_mce/tiny_mce.js was commented out (including force_root_block part). However, maybe the syntax check of my editor fails because
the entire file is just a pile of characters.

I really need some help on this.. this problem is driving me nuts! I dont want any paragraphs when i hit enter.. i just want the damn thing to insert a break tag.

I realize this post is old, i wonder why it didnt get an answere. Maybe its still relevant to someone, so here we go:

There is no need to go through your configfiles and edit them. The easiest to configure TinyMCE for MODx is to go to: Elements > Manage Elements > Plugins > TinyMCE. There pick "Configuration Tab". Paste into "custom parameters" the value Click save and you’re set. (This is for Evo 1.0.4. and way back but not sure how far back )
