Twitter Feed?

Hi,

I got a question about FeedX and Twitter. So far I’ve managed to output the tweet itself and the timestamp of course.

But how do you guys include the profile picture that’s on the Twitter page? Is that just a static link?

No, not a static. Here not FeedX solution but you can see an example of using profile images with MODx.

is there any way to modify FeedX or any other Twitter-addon, so you can use Tweets of multiple accounts on a page? You see this happening on more and more sites often lately.

Is it a lot of work to modify FeedX for something like that?

Depends on your system, but in getFeed (for Revo), you can receive multiple the RSS-es.

Nevermind, I found a tutorial already on http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/getFeed.Adding+a+Twitter+Feed. So, adding multiple feeds would be just a matter of adding another address in the ’&url’ parameter? I’d still love to know about using a profile image as well .

Ah well, that sounds like a great step in the right direction. Problem is, I’m not exactly a developer. Do you know where I can find a tutorial which explains how I can use Twitter feeds with getFeed? Plus I’d love to see a profile image accompanying every tweet. Is that even possible?

Lots of questions, I know. Still, the help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Actually, I’m not even sure of what i’m talking about, since actually I built my own [[simplepie]] snippet, but then used getFeed for the replacement.

Yes, I was wrong.
getFeed doesn’t get multiple RSS.
Mine does... sorry.

But I guess, you can request for the getFeed feature.
It’s only a matter of an array.

I don’t release my snippet, because it’s still the learning step of add-on development for Revo.
Hard coded template, very bad coding.

Just to jump right in here, I’ve been working on my own twitter feed component/snippet. I’m trying to put together a installer, but the tutorial posted online kinda sucks. It’s doesn’t match up and it keeps pulling ’transport’ files from nowhere.
