Is there any chance that external templates will be worked into core, in other words outside of the database? I know I can make it work with a snippet, but always having to clear the cache everytime you make a change is kind of a pain in the butt. It’s just this one thing that’s kinda killing me, cause I really want to be able to work with my modx templates in the same way I do my Wordpress templates, in Coda or another text editor. Not in the manager.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

So no one has any thoughts or ideas on this? This is a major area of concern for me... WP, Drupal, Joomla, C5, etc, etc,... none of them keep their templates in the database like Modx does, as far as my knowledge.

Is there a way to use something like the includeTemplate snippet without having to clear the cache all the time?

Doesn’t Revo have the ability to disable caching altogether if so desired? If so, you could disable caching until you are finished with development. Or, you could use a bulk resource management tool (not sure what that is in Revo, but the DocManager in Revo has the feature) to uncache all your resources until you’re finished development, then re-set them all to being cached. Or the same thing could be accomplished manually in the database with a quick update query to the site_content table.
