free templates for modx

hi
Im wondering where I can download free templates for modx.

Tried to check in google it seems there is none!
Any ideas?

Thanks

There are some. It normally doesn’t make too much sense to take a prebuild theme / template for a modx site as you need custom modules most time but still there are:

- mine MODX-Boilerplate to build your own template / theme:
http://www.novolo.de/en/know-how/blog/2011/free-template-modx-boilerplate / https://github.com/smooth-graphics/modx-boilerplate

- Menno Pietersen’s theme based on my boilerplate:

- or some other resources here:

thanks.

Does this mean that in modx you should design your template from scratch?

Thanks

In my opinion (only in my!) it’s better to build a new template based on my boilerplate. With that you can customize your site to your content and your layout very easily based on a solid HTML5, CSS3 groundwork.
But to learn how to create a template you can use e.g. the DETAILS (http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,64074.0/topicseen.html) theme.

ok thanks for the insights. I will look at your site and will let you know if I have questions
