Hi all, I’m new to ModX, I am a self-learner and have PHP/Ajax/HTML/CSS experience.
I had seen ModX before and even installed it, but never used it, because I was not that experience to work with Snippets and Chunks. So far, I’m able to manage.

One really big question I would like to see answered, is why the template HTML-code is stored in the DB. cool
    Really really curious !

    Tnx in advance !!

You can use a snippet that includes an external file as the only content of the template if you prefer.

Most CMS platforms do it that way. The two main reasons are security and the ability to search. It also allows you to easily establish relationships between the various objects -- e.g., the document, the document’s children and ancestors, the user who created it, the user who last edited it, the user who published it, the template it uses, the template variables attached to it, etc.
