I first posted this under TinyMCE, which is where the problem is most obviously manifested, but I think it’s higher up the chain, so I’ll try here.

    Possibly related to: http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,58563.0.html

    Problem:

My client contacted me to say that their rich text editing experience is broken for certain pages on the site. I checked the manager on my mac (Firefox) and it looked fine, so I thought they were the usual client and had toggled the rich editor off or something.

However, I looked at it on IE8 on WinXP and quickly saw what they were talking about.

On IE, for pages that use a certain template, TinyMCE does not load. Instead, there’s a JS error:

IE 8 is throwing this JS error:

This template uses a Date TV with a custom output. In IE, the date dropdowns do not appear at all. They’re fine in Firefox.

Anybody seen this before and can help?

In case anyone’s interested, changing my input type from Date to Text for my TV fixes the problem in IE.

Now I just have to figure out which board this should go in or whether I should just file a bug.

Did you ever find a fix for this? I’m having the same issue... I have two date template variables. The first works fine, but the second date input doesn’t show up at all(problem in IE only).

Yes, I filed it as a bug: (http://bugs.modx.com/issues/4111) which should be fixed in Revolution 2.1
