Hello all - entirely new to this whole ModX business. Happy convert thus far from EE!

When trying to create a new template of any kind, I go through all the steps of naming it, describing it, entering the code, etc. When I click save, the little save bar pops up and does its thing and then... nothing. There’s no new template in my Elements, nor is it an option to select in my resources. In addition, when I try to edit/change the BaseTemplate, no changes are saved.

    Here are my current settings:

    Version: Revolution 2.0.8-pl (traditional)
OS: Max OS X 10.6.6 & Windows XP Pro SP3
Browsers: Safari 5.0.3 (mac), Firefox 3.6.12 (Mac & Windows), Chrome 9.0.597 (Windows)
    Server: MediaTemple Grid Service
PHP5, no opcode caching, MySQL Server version 5.1.26

As you can guess, this rather limits my capabilities of site construction.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

    Cheers.

It could be a bug, or it could be an issue with mod_security. There was a bug in an earlier version of MODx that prevented saving templates, so it might be back.

It’s possible that the base template is protected.

I’m assuming that you haven’t messed with permissions in any way. If you haven’t and mod_security if off, please file your issue at http://bugs.modxcms.com

You could definitely create new templates in PhpMyAdmin, but that’s a pretty unacceptable workaround. wink

I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what went wrong; I figured it must be something with the installation. I reinstalled and everything seems to be working okay. Thanks for your help. Cheers.
