Wayfinder IE issue regarding dropdown menu

Never heard of Quirks mode. Learned something new today. Now I need to get busy with html again because the layout is messed up, haha. Well, the menu works now.

What do you suggest frank, go with:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"
	"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

or with the "newer"

<!DOCTYPE html>

OMG again! Now, all the extra work I had to put in to make a extra ie css file has been for nothing. 1 Stylesheet again, yeeeh!

Or, just take one from the templates that are deliverd with Modx, or look at the source of other pages

without being patronising, a good rule to validate with FF webdev tools or with IE DOM inspector if your CSS or HTML validate. Or directly here for your CSS and here for your markup. Btw glad it worked.
