I am building a multi-context website where each context relates to a separate domain e.g. mydomain1.com, mydomain2.com. Each domain is a separate website with it’s own editor that writes the content, and so I have User Groups set up to restrict access to just their domain.
What I would like to do now, is also restrict the ModX Elements based on the User Group. So for example I have separated my templates for each site in the following way:
[tt]Domain 1:
Template 1
Template 2
Domain 2:
Template 3
Template 4
Template 5[/tt]
I would like that when a user logs into the Manager for their particular context, they only have access to the ModX Elements for their own domain, however right now, if for example I log into Domain 2, I have access to both Domain 1&2’s templates, chunks, snippets etc.
Is this possible to do with Form Actions?
I’m having the same issue... I would like templates to only appear for the context they belong to.
Put your templates into separate categories, then restrict usergroups to specific templates by using Element Access Policies to restrict permissions on those categories in the relevant contexts.
Writer > E-consultant > MODx developer || Salesforce || modx 2.x || PHP 5.2.13 || MySQL client 5.0.86
Thanks for your reply, that’s exactly what I’ve done but the ’Element Access Policies’ are ignored... Everything else is working when the user logs into their Context, it’s just the ALL the templates show up in the template selection when creating/editing a resource.
I’ve also tried ’Form customization’ with no success.
Any help will be most appreciated.
