    Hi guys

    I am new to Modx, normally use Joomla so please bear with me.

    I am trying to install 1.0.2

    I have created my db and added the user with full permissions. I am going through the installation processes and db server connection appears OK: Connection to host: passed - collations now available

    For the next part of the install I am prompted for Database Name and Prefix, I have changed the default db name to match the one that I created and left the prefix at the default, I am now receiveing the following message: Checking database: failed - database collation mismatch; use SET NAMES or choose latin1_general_ci

    Even if the db name and prefix match it’s still bombing out

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

      On the install database screen have you tried selecting latin1_general_ci in the drop down box?

      If this does not work and you have access to phpmyadmin you could issue this SQL command to change the locale of your database:

      ALTER DATABASE mydbname DEFAULT CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci;

      Replace the word DATABASE with your databasename then try the install again
