Ok, I know there is a right way to do this and a long way. I know I’ve been asking questions like crazy, but I am starting to understand the code a lot better, and now I need advice on how I should approach the task in front of me. Like I said, I have quite a few pages that all need to be transferred over. Here’s an example page: http://www.themovietimeline.net/html/10_000_b_c_.html
They all will end up looking exactly like that, but they all have unique content.

So, ultimately my question is; what’s the best way to do this? I can’t copy and paste the code from my existing site because it’s crap and confuses the hell out of me. There’s gotta be a better way than just completely redoing each page!? Everything is staying in the same spot on each page, so how can I take advantage of that? Do I make chunks out of the various parts? The movie image, the history vs movie meter, the world map, the Set In The Year text, the Rated Text, the buy and watch/download button, the synopsis and quotes, the Google Ads, and the Poll. I’m guessing there is a way to save time here, but I just can’t figure it out! Can I set it up, so that my chunk or ditto calls that many different things? How do I make a placeholder for all of those things?

I don’t know. I’m just looking for some more help. You guys have been awesome so far!!

If you just want to suck in the existing pages, you can try MODx’s Import HTML function. If you want to do things right, though, you’ll have to create a template with either chunks or template variables (or a custom DB table). Then you’ll have to either do a lot of cutting and pasting, or write a program that parses the existing docs and inserts the content in the appropriate places.

You’re mistake was in not separating the display and the raw data (content) in the first place. Now you have to pay the price. wink

Most of us have been there at some point.

BTW, it’s "synopsis" unless you mean the pairing of two homologous chromosomes that occurs during meiosis (or the connection between neurons in the brain -- in which cases it’s synapses).
