    Hi

while creating new template design using 3 collumn (holy grail) free template.
I saved images to images dir added base ref.
    previewed in Firefox all ok.
    using non startup page.
previewed in IE6 no graphics using localhost/modx.
seemed strange should have shown startup page.
cleared cache closed Firefox & IE6
opened Firefox localhost/modex got startup page
opened IE6 localhost/modex got none startup page still no image with alt text.

This is my second atempt at producing a template first on my own worked with both browsers no problems.

Seems a great CSS not that I am an expert (spent three days reading to get the hang of things

That’s why they call it the "holy grail" wink

The site in my sig uses a three-column layout that works in IE6 (at least it did the last time I checked).

      • If you link to your images using relative paths don’t forget to add the base tag in your head.

        <base href="[(site_url)]" />

I was not so concerned at the lack of images but that different start pages showed up in Firefox & IE6

          did use <base href="[(site_url)]" />

IE6 picks up <base href="[(site_url)]" /> as it displays alt title

          thanks for quick replies

by the way am based in Cape Town SA

could someone please advise re correct posting place

          still seems a GREAT CSS

thanks to all that put in the hours

            Hi BobRay

            Great site
works in IE6 but not same squashed on left (only 800 wide I think)
unfortunately many people in SA still using IE6 so wanted same look

as stated before working on local machine (localhost/modx)

                so can’not give address

Firefox also used non startup page with no errors after i switched on machine this morning but when i refreshed page startup page displayed.
Then started IE 6 on localhost/modex and none startup page displayed with errors refreshed page did no change(strange).

                Hope this helps

I did not even get to take the style from html file can send you html if you like.

I had to widen a div to accommodate a longer main menu. I probably need to adjust the min-width for IE6, though my motivation to support a browser that old is low (especially since the upgrade is free) and I no longer have an IE6 machine to test with.

thanks BobRay was not suggesting you mod your site.

but some people in africa still running win98.

so i feel need to support them with this site.

                    most people still on dial-up.

I only have 384 k internet with 1 gig cap.

                    welcome to life in SA.

                      Ouch. That’s harsh.

                      Won’t Win98 run IE7 at least?
