I’ve got a couple questions and I’m not sure exactly where to turn to get them answered ...

First question is ... is there a way to create a preview version of a page within MODx? So if a client hasn’t completed all the changes to a page yet ... they can save them to complete later without changing the live site? Or change them to allow someone to review before it goes live?

Second question (or group of questions!) ...

I’m looking for a (or a couple) shopping cart(s) ... the first one is a very simplistic shopping cart that is more of an order entry system than a full shopping cart ... easy to add product ... and then an email gets sent with the products ordered ... must have pictures associated with each product.

Second shopping cart is more of a full blown shopping cart complete with PayPal transactions. But it needs to be able to allow users to log in and review their account information as well as provide for RSS/Email subscription options.

It would be Ok/moderately good if the first cart had the same capabilities.

Look forward to hearing from the community what options exist ...

    Thanks.

      1. If a document is "unpublished" it cannot be seen on the website, nor will it be listed in a menu or other type of list (unless the listing snippet such as Wayfinder is told to show unpublished documents), but a logged-in manager user can see it; he’ll just have to enter it manually into the browser address bar. The "preview" for the document will also work.

      2. There are a few cart snippets, but they aren’t up to the quality of a full-blown ecommerce application. Everyone who tries (and that includes my efforts with ShopX) finds themselves bogged down in the issues surrounding ecommerce (inventory management, shipping, tax, etc) that cause ecommerce applications to be entire projects with teams of developers. Many find FoxyCart and MODx work together very well, and while not free its cost is certainly reasonable.

        1) Thanks for the response ... but what if the page was previously published ... can I hang onto a "new version" prior to publishing it ... and still keep the old page? Or would I have to create a truly new page ... and delete the old just before I publish?

        2) I’m sorry to hear that ... I was really hoping there would be an easy answer! :-( ... Oh well.
