Hi all,
I am having problems with finding out how to adjust the gap (padding) from the the various parts of a template I am working on. I’e. the gap between the main banner and the start of the content. I have inherited this site and aren’t sure where to look! I’ve even opened the .css to see if i can find the padding setting there but am not great at .css to be honest!
Anybody help pleeeaassseeee!
Thanks in advance from a new user!

There is some default padding applied by some browsers which you can remove by doing the following:
*, html {margin: 0; padding: 0;}
Naturally adding additional elements you can further target/enhance that. Oh, it needs to be line 1 in your css file. If that doesn’t work you need to post a link.

I’m a little unsure about giving links out until I get used to the system...I really appreciate your help so far though!
I can understand that, but with a link it’s easier to view your sorcecode and to find the path and than have a look at your .css file. That way it’s much easier to see in what way you can be helped.
I think, thererfor I am! But what I am, and why...?

Sharing a link makes it much easier for us to help you resolve your problem and unless you give use your manager login you should have no problems. If you like remove the link after the problem is resolved and/or just send a PM to the people interested in helping.
By the first line I mean when you open your main css file on that very first line (above all other css code) add that line. This ensure any commands below it will function properly and such.

One other bit of help I do still need, is that when the site is using Firefox, it moves the images in the top banner and on some pages the top banner is missing but when you load it in IE 6 7 or 8 it works fine!
That’s why you need to provide a link. If you gave me the URL I can load it into CSSEdit and see changes live in my preview (doesn’t affect your site) and figure out what is wrong.
One especially has to provide a link to resolve IE issues. No link pretty much means you won’t get help with CSS.
