i am creating a site in modx for a client and am wrestling a bit with giving them only certain access within the [*content*] area. for example, i have an overall template that all the pages fit within, but the individual pages have varying layouts within the template. i would like the client to have access to the rich text functions for the copy, but not give them any ability to affect any of the <div> or <table> code that is housing the text within the individual pages.

now, i’ve been working with chucks and template variables to restrict as much code as i can, but even then, it seems sort of awkward and patched together and sort of frustrating having to constantly go between them in the manager. plus, i’ve had to almost make a different template for every page.

i could have sworn my friend and i saw in the wysiwyg view a little edit tag by certain paragraphs and not just the one corner quickedit controller, but we can’t remember exactly where we remember seeing that.

    ANY IDEAS?

    thanks!
