Dropdown list menu TV last item not staying selected after save

Hi there
I’ve a Dropdown list menu TV with four items (Design||Corporate Publishing||Digital||Werbung).
They display OK in the template when editing a post until there no problems, but as soon as you select the last item in the list, that’s "Werbung" after saving the post and reopening it, the value displayed as selected is the first one!
Does anybody has seen this behaviour before?
I had to add an extra || delimiter to get it to sty selected, but that adding an extra empty space at the end of the list, thing I don’t really like.
Is that a known bug in version 0.9.6.3?

I took a look at that link. Is that really the only solution?
