    Hi all

When I first downloaded a template for my default installation of MODx, I found that in some template folders had a file in them called "Skin.php" that defines which files are in the folder and which snippets and chunks are included.

    1)
Now my question is, is this skin.php really needed for anything else, but info to the person who wishes to use a template and then this skin.php provides a quick overview.

    2)
Now that I am building my own templates, I wonder does it have any consequences that my folder structure is not the same as in the templates I have already downloaded, or is this irrelevant, just as long as I am able to work with the structure I have made?

      1) I don’t know about that file, you don’t need it to get modx running!
      2) you can have your own structure in your template smiley

          Hello,

That file is used by skingraft as a method of simplifying the template install process. It’s not required by any stretch and if anything likely to be removed down the road as I believe skingraft is fading away and/or abandon. I am going to guess those templates were from scottwell as I don’t think anyone else every got on the skingraft train.

Anyways MODx is all about your way so you can use whatever structure. Heck you can even put the template in your site root and use it!

          Enjoy
