    We used DotNetNuke for another project and it has the ability within an editable area to use a repeating template for the content within that area.

    For example there is an editable region in the page. This would most likely be a chunk or TV.

    In this editable area though we want to have a layout that they can easily add more items to without having to manually put code into the area.

    The best example would be an automotive dealer employee page. We want to have the content region be editable but the template within that content area to be a photo and the employee name below the photo, each of which is edited by the user. This would be the template for the content region and when they add a new employee they can simply add another "template" to the content area that is automatically put in place.

    Is such a thing possible with MODx? I haven’t seen any way to format any of the editable regions in such a manner.

    Thanks!

        Thanks for the fast reply ! The second link looks very similar to what I’d like to do.

        Before I spend all the time setting up a number of templates I have a couple quick questions regarding this functionality if you don’t mind.

        1) Do you know that if each time you click the button in TinyMCE it will add a new item? So if they chose template "1 photo" it will keep adding a new photo each time?

        2) Can this template functionality be restricted to only certain pages? I wouldn’t want a client using the "employees" template on the contact or home page for example.

        Thanks again

          Hi!

          actually i never used this function before, i just bookmarked it because it looks really usefull...so i’m just guessing

          to 1. it depends on how you setup the template, you could probably use an image-tv to add a picture each time the custom template is placed in the document.

          to 2. i don’t know, but i’m sure this can be done somehow

          cheers, j

            have a look here -> http://wiki.modxcms.com/index.php/TinyMCE
            NOTE: Since all of these settings can be overridden on a per-user level, be sure and check your user settings should changes to the main System Configuration appear not to work.
            so you can setup custom settings for manager users in TinyMCE
