Hi
I’m relatively new to php and have been trying to develop a website from the ground up while learning all I can but due to time constraints (baby due in 9 weeks!) I’m now considering using a CMS. Modx sounds like it would meet most of my requirements.
I’d just like to confirm that my understanding is correct before going ahead and getting stuck in and would appreciate any input on whether the following can be done in modx:
1) the main feature of the site will be a subscription service where subscribers will be able to maintain their own individual page once they’ve subscribed which will be available to the public via a search page.
2) I’d need to be able to link up to a separate database with all the subscribers details for admin purposes - I’m assuming this is where snippets come in?
3) there will be a google map which can display these results (ie the location of the subscribers).
I’ve not been able to find much current info on including google maps in the forums. Has anybody done anything similar?
I’d really appreciate any input thanks!
Jenni
