Well. I just can’t be the only one who has this problem with IE7?

I have searched around the forum for this, but I can’t seem to find anything about it.
Hope this is the right place to write about this.

My scrollbar shows up a little bit of here and there in horizontal.
Mostly it’s just a few pixels, but annoying still...
But in Modules and Manager the width is quite to much to wide.

So I dug around in the stylesheet for MODXLight.

I found that the class .subTitle had a margin to the right, 10px, and this is no good in IE, because the margins and paddings adds to the width, and it is already set to 100%, thus, annoying scrollbar.
I just changed it to 0 since isn’t needed at all.

I also noticed that the class searchbar was missing a clear:both; which made the menu not pop into place beneath the icon, as it does nicely in FF3.03.
The same error with the class .dynamic-tab-pane-control.tab-pane

Theeeeen came the modules and all the other pages that uses this searchbar. I think they all have a sectionHeader in them.
So I guessed it would be easy to fix it. Just find the faulty margins and/or paddings and perhaps some widths.
But oooh no. Not at all.
    No can do.

There is so much hardcoded styles all over the place and that might be good if you don’t want it to be easy to style things.
And ofcourse it might be good when it shouldn’t be to easy to style things.
But when doing it that way it’s always a good practice to wrap the whole page in a div so it’s atleast easy to fix browser-specific errors.

The only solution I could find was to set the the width of html property to 99%.
Not the best way of solving things, but I rather have 1% less width then that annoying scrollbar.

    Voilá.
    Everything fixed, atleast in MODXLight.

    Cheers

    EDIT:

Posted in JIRA. I put all the fixes there I found aswell.

Would you please post this as a bug/request in JIRA so that we can fix it. This sounds like a real issue that could cause problems with users. I don’t personally do anything but test front end in IE7 all else in Firefox so I wouldn’t have seen it.

      Cheers,
