I am new to the MODx realm and have bought the book MODx Web Development. In going through this, all was well until chapter 2! It appears this book was written for ver 0.9.0 and I of course am running 1.0.2 At first, it was only terminology changes, then there was a need to call some snippets that were no longer in the base install. I searched the net and found the snippets and figures out how to fix that.

My problem comes with authorization and authentication. I would like to have a forum, and only registered users be able to post on it. When I set up the Web User Group and assign access to a resource, that resource is no longer visible in my menu. I would think that the button would still be on the menu and be able to access the restriction pages.

Hopefully this makes sense and you will be able to guide me. More questions to come, although trying to deal with one thing at a time. Thanks in advance

Not displaying protected menu items to non-valid visitors is the normal behavior of the Wayfinder snippet.
