[SOLVED] Completely Confused..

Hello,

I need to create a snippet or find one that will call information from another folder of documents in Modx. I am not a programmer and I am not sure how to make this happen.

In essence I would like to have a current events section on my home page that I can add to along the side of my index page that I would be able to just enter into a different folder in my manager.

does that make sense?

Indeed, that’s what the Ditto snippet is for. Basic Ditto call:

where xx is the document ID of the parent document that contains your article documents in the Document Tree.

Can I make it so that the title is not linked and it shows the entire chunk of text without the date & created by. I looked through the code but I dont want to screw around with it too much.

Yes, you can control the output via a tpl chunk.

I took your advice and read how to make custom CHUNK. I am not sure what this means?

to your snippet call and Ditto will use your custom template

To close this with an answer..Basically it means add the tpl parameter to the snippet call:

Where zz is the name of the chunk.
